A Playground Slide Would Make The Perfect Gift for Your Nephew

As an aunt or uncle, there have probably been many times you have walked into toy store and not been able to decide what to buy for your nephew. Picking out the perfect gift can be a daunting task. How do you choose from the many choices of playground slides, books and tractor trucks? With Christmas just around the corner, here are some helpful tips to picking the perfect gift for the nephew on your list.

• Boys like to be busy. Pick something that will keep him moving. Outdoor playground accessories or big purchases like playground slides will long be remembered and much appreciated by parents.
• Boys like to build. Blocks, either wooden shapes or interlocking plastic, will keep them busy for hours. Just make sure they are big enough that he can't swallow them.
• If the boy likes animals then a farm yard set with lots of animals, equipment, corrals and of course a barn.
• Fact filled picture books about his favorite things will help him become interested in books.
• A tractor or truck he can peddle with a loader or wagon to put his 'stuff' in is always a hit. Remember - kids are creative. Gifts like playground slides and trucks they can ride might not go so well together.
• If he's a cowboy then some chaps and a cowboy hat.
• If he's a builder then maybe a simple construction kit. There are great ready to assemble kits for vehicles or planes out of wood. This is a good parent and son project.
• Kid size tools like mom and dad's so he can help in the garden or the shop or even the kitchen if he likes cooking.
• Toys he can throw, kick, or squeeze are always good.
• T-shirts or PJ's or even underwear with his favorite super hero on it.

Try to avoid things that require him to sit still for long periods of time, things that require delicacy or patience. Movies and video ensure that kids will spend more time in front of the T.V. and the goal is to encourage them to use their imagination or get them out of the house. Consider where they live and buy toys that will fit into their space without crowding them. Buying big gifts, such as playground slides, is only a good idea if there is room for it.
